Big changes are coming! We are planning to increase the accessibility of our building so that everyone can attend!
See the March 2026 Update Below
The Why?
Here at CT, we want to remove as many barriers as possible for people to come to church. With that in mind, we need to improve our accessibility. This is the reason behind the accessibility and lobby expansion. The accessibility and lobby expansion will help everyone to have appropriate access to our building and give more room for ministry. Prayerfully consider making a pledge or a donation towards this project.
March 2026 Update
Over the past 12 months, some meaningful developments have taken place:
-
After receiving initial construction figures, we asked our developer, Keller Developments, to prepare a revised design that would reduce overall cost while still meeting our core goals of improving accessibility, enlarging our lobby space, and creating a more functional flow for weekends and ministry use.
They have now completed a smaller and more efficient design option, which can strike a better balance between stewardship and impact. We will present this option to you at the AGM on April 19, 2026. -
We are also exploring the possibility of combining the project with the planned Senior Housing development next door. If this joint approach moves forward, it could offer significant benefits, including:
Better access to outside funding sources
Shared construction efficiencies
A potential reduction in overall project cost
While these discussions are still in process, the early signs are promising and could open doors we simply couldn’t access on our own. Dwayne Dyck from YFC, our partner in the Senior’s Housing Project, will be presenting an update at the AGM on progress made with the Housing Project.
-
Throughout the planning process, better accessibility remains a non‑negotiable priority. Whether through the revised design or a combined development approach, we are committed to ensuring that our church is welcoming and accessible to every person who walks through our doors.
-
We’re also grateful to share that we currently have $99,148 in pledges toward the project, and we have already received $89,818 of that amount. Your generosity, and the generosity of others who share this commitment to accessibility, continues to lay a strong foundation as we move toward the next steps.
Thank you again for your faithful giving, patience, and belief in this project. We want to move forward wisely, prayerfully, and responsibly. Your generosity helps make that possible. We will continue to keep you updated as key decisions are finalized.
More Details
-
The accessibility upgrades and lobby expansion will be financed through a diversified and sustainable funding plan. This includes:
Pledges and Donations – Commitments from individuals, organizations, and partners who want to invest in making our space more inclusive and welcoming.
Government Grants – Applications for federal, provincial, and municipal grant programs that support accessibility improvements, community infrastructure, and public‑use facility enhancements.
Income From Rentals – A portion of the revenue generated from our rental houses will be allocated directly toward the project, allowing us to reinvest internal income into necessary improvements.
-
The planned expansion will dramatically improve accessibility by removing physical barriers and ensuring that all individuals can move throughout the building safely and independently. Key accessibility features include:
A new elevator that will connect the new ground‑level lobby, the basement, and the main level, providing full vertical access for people with mobility challenges, seniors, parents with strollers, and those using mobility aids.
A new ramp that will offer a smooth, step‑free entry into the main floor, ensuring that everyone can access the facility without difficulty.
Together, the elevator and ramp create a fully integrated, barrier‑free environment that aligns with modern accessibility standards and supports a more inclusive experience for all community members.
