Advent Traditions
Many families have traditions for the Advent season. Some people hide a pickle in the Christmas tree, go carolling, and some make gingerbread houses. My favourite family tradition was when my father would gather us around on Christmas morning and read us Luke 2:1-21 before we did anything else. This highlighted the reason we celebrate Advent and also gave us time to pause and give thanks for the many blessings God had given us, whether there were presents under the tree or not. Whatever your tradition is, may you take time to slow down to remember our Saviour's birth, death and resurrection. Remember that He ascended to Heaven, sent us the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and empower us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, while anticipating His return. We are praying that, in every moment of Advent, you experience the presence of Jesus.
Merry Christmas from all the staff at CT
p.s. depending on when you’re reading this… you might still have time to make it to our Christmas Eve service on Dec 24 at 6 pm. Hope to see you there.
